Ethan Scharzrock, Ridgewater College Carpentry Framing student, was one of 16 students awarded a 2020 Housing First Minnesota (HFM) and the Housing First Minnesota Foundation scholarship to help further their education and career goals within the residential home building industry. These students are pursuing their way into our industry and showing how bright and promising the future is for home construction.
An honor roll student, Scharzrock has always enjoyed math and economics classes, but mostly his shop classes. Active in sports and his church, he has spent time volunteering at a local organization doing outdoor maintenance.
He has also spent the last couple of summers working at a local construction company.
“To me there is no better feeling than when I finish a project and see the look of excitement in the customer’s face,” Scharzrock said.
