PBM’s First Golf Tournament A Success

Over 70 golfers representing a wide variety of contractors, subcontractors, material suppliers and construction industry professionals participated in the first-ever Project Build Minnesota Annual Golf Tournament held Tuesday, August 25 at Willinger’s Golf Club.

The event featured lunch sponsored by Robert Thompson Homes, beverage cart sponsored by Frattalone Companies, and dinner sponsored by Viking Demolition and Specialty Services.  Hole sponsors included The Builders Group, Minnesota Utility Contractors Association, Grazzini Brothers and Company, Scherer Brothers Lumber Company, Dakota County Lumber, Housing First Minnesota, RMS Rentals, and Alliance Bank. Minnesota Builders Exchange sponsored the Hit The Boat challenge.

The purpose of the event was to raise program funds for Project Build Minnesota youth outreach activities which help to educate and inform Minnesota’s young people about the benefits of lifelong careers in building and construction.  Over $13,000 was raised and will be used to support and expand strategic outreach programs.

“Project Build Minnesota wishes to thank the industry for the strong support of the tournament”, noted David Siegel, president, Project Build Minnesota.  “The event is a building block for helping us grow the movement and expand our message to our target audiences”, he added.

The event was judged to be a 100% success by the participants and sponsors.  Plans are now being developed for next year’s tournament scheduled for August 19, 2021.
