Each year Project Build Minnesota increases its efforts to advance construction careers as lucrative career options to young adults and nontraditional students. With the average construction worker in Minnesota making $63,000 per year why wouldn’t they be interested?
Project Build Minnesota needs help getting this knowledge into the hands of Minnesota’s students, counselors, parents, and teachers. Project Build Minnesota is asking supporters of the construction industry to participate in Give to the Max Day on November 19 to help us expand our efforts.
As an innovative and exciting collaborative of construction industry associations and businesses, Project Build Minnesota has been working to raise interest in trade careers since 2017. Give to the Max Day provides a unique opportunity to help advance its efforts, and secure matching funds.
While Project Build Minnesota has had success reaching young adults, we could be even more impactful if we had resources to expand our reach. So much more work needs to be accomplished and you can help us get there.
In our three year history, Project Build Minnesota has done in-person student presentations to dozens of classrooms and hundreds of students, online career videos for students to learn about the industry, career fairs, a robust website, social media campaigns, exhibiting at the Minnesota School Counselors Association, and providing them construction career marketing materials. We’ve also launched Employer Connect, which links interested students with industry employers seeking labor. Website traffic is rising, brand awareness is growing, and we are poised for breakthrough success.
In 2021, Project Build Minnesota will be focusing specifically on the education sector. We will be creating a Scouting Explorers Post and hosting a Minnesota Construction Teachers Conference as we continue to draw attention to the trades as a career choice.
By donating to Project Build Minnesota, you will be growing a new workforce and ensuring the future success of your business. Special thanks to The Builders Group (TBG), which will be matching your donation up to $12,500.
